This workshop will focus on introducing the fascinating field of Speech Signal Processing. The theme of the workshop is specially designed for those who want to just begin their career in this area of research. The objective of the workshop is to deliver the participants sufficient knowledge of physiological aspects of Speech Science and necessary signal processing background which will serve the purpose of a prerequisite course and give them a kick start to learn fundamentals of Audio and Speech Processing. We also plan to discuss some famous application areas and include a few applications as case studies with demonstrations. This will help participants to understand the span and coverage of this emerging area.

Giant companies such as Microsoft, Google, IBM, Apple, Amazon and prestigious institutes such as Stanford, Oxford etc. are seriously investigating into Speech Research nowadays, and if you are aiming for such opportunities as job or higher studies then this is surely going to be beneficial to you.
Some people who are interested to work in this domain, hesitate to go further in Speech Research because of the need to understand the concepts of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) as a prerequisite. We have designed the workshop contents which will explain the basic fundamentals of DSP and Speech Science (from biological aspects) which will offer the participants a kick start to delve into this area. Registration
The applicants are required to send completely filled in application form (photocopy may also be used) along with the registration fees so as to reach the coordinators on or before 28/03/2017.
High Tea, Lunch and course materials with registration kit will be provided to all the participants. All other expenses are to be borne by the participants. Registration charges are non refundable. Participants are required to make their own arrangements for lodging, boarding and travelling. However, on request, the arrangement for accommodation can be made on chargeable basis.
Fees can be paid by Cash/Demand Draft/Local Cheque. Demand Draft / Cheque should be drawn in favor of “Centre for Continuing Education, Nirma University” payable at Ahmedabad.
